What qualifies me to help you?
I have a degree in furniture & product design in 1993, and have also studied interior design. I have worked as designer since and have had my own design company since 2005
I have over three decades of design experience - from working as a designer for a furniture manufacturer - to retail design - to interior design. I offer all the standard interior design services as my fellow interior designers - with a BONUS of focus on sustainability, healthy & cruelty free specifications.
Prior to setting up my own company, for 10 years I was a 3D designer for The Body Shop’s head office working on store and retail concepts globally. This where my knowledge of LOW IMPACT INTERIOR DESIGN and ETHICAL BUSINESS has come from.
Clients are finding me because they like my ethos - but for many years I have worked with clients who needed convincing to work with lower impact specifications. So I have lots of experience to share.
My learnings on environmental awareness, sustainability using circular economy principles and cruelty-free specifications learnt at The Body Shop, have translated into my own interior design business.
I went on to be the first interior designer in the UK to be VEGANDESIGN ORG CERTIFIED™ and have continued my study in human-centred and sustainable design.
I was awarded PETA's Compassionate Designer 2023
In 2013 I joined the leading professional body for my industry the BRITISH INSTITUTE OF INTERIOR DESIGN - to increase my education.
I've since won the BIID CPD Award for two years running.
I'm constantly learning!
I'd been publishing progress on sustainability efforts by the business for many years - but in 2021 I submitted the B Impact Assessment and in April 2023 became B CORP CERTIFIED.
RIBA Publishing commissioned me to write a book SUSTAINABLE INTERIOR DESIGN to assist my industry - published in 2024
In 2025 members voted me on the BIID Council as a Director, where I am supporting the members and the institute on improving standards.
I was awarded the BIID MERIT AWARD for services to the interior design industry.
