Victorian terrace house

I recently helped a local family to rethink their Victorian terrace home where they've lived for ten years. It's a house type and size I have grown up with so it felt very familiar and I've seen lots of ways these houses have been reconfigured.

The project needed planning and designing well - in order to spend the budget wisely and help the works be carried out as efficiently as possible.

The clients wanted to improve the design to better support the use of the family, especially as their daughter gets older and clearly has lot f creative talent to nurture!

🍃 To optimise the space - this involved some beautiful bespoke joinery and bespoke upholstery in 100% recycled post consumer PET, made in the UK. All FSC timber.

🍃 The living space was opened up and better laid out to suit the position of the room and the uses within it. We switched ends - creating a bright daytime space with double glazed doors- and with a cosy snug at the rear.

🍃 We used healthy, non-toxic, non-animal tested ecological paints throughout .

Reused original floorboards where we could. Repairs in reclaimed timber.

🍃 The client requested internal insulation to be added to the rear wall and under the floorboards. New double glazed windows were installed. Heating was re-evaluated and updated

I'm so pleased the family are happy and enjoying their space again
