Book launch: RIBA Publishing - Sustainable Interior Design
It's been an exciting few months as the book went out into the world!
Since April there's been quite a bit going on to promote the book including being interviewed by my podcast hero LuAnn Nigara for her podcast 'A Well Designed Business'. You can access all the promotion here - press and speaking.
Thankfully there's been lots of great feedback and learning institutions adding the book to reading lists which is what I'd hoped for!
The book launch on 5th April and RIBA Publishing had sold is exclusively for the first month - and available everywhere from then onwards!
My own route into sustainability has been motivated by Vegan Design + the Circular Economy over the last couple of decades. I could see we all have different things that draw us to work in a lighter impacting way. So I identified and examined ELEVEN approaches to a Sustainable Interior Design and have jammed-packed the book with international examples and inspiring photos of buildings, spaces and products.
Thank you to all the fantastic designers, makers and sharers who have been at part of it. Fortunately a good number of thm ccame to the Book Launch which took place on 12th June at the UK HQ for Humanscale whose Path Chair is one of the 40 projects + products I wrote about.
About 60 of us were there including lots of my British Institute of Interior Design colleages including lots of Past Presidents of the BIID. There were lots of my sustainability community there too as well as my family and friends.
We were treated to a vegan afternoon tea while I spoke about the process and the wonderful people involved. Also there were some of the team at RIBA Publishing team, including the publishing editor Elizabeth Webster who has been equally excited to deliver it, enthusiastic and supportive! Also there was the super talented Elena Branch @elenadrewthis who has illustrated it with such skill and care. It all went so well and the books on the night sold out!
Congratulations on a wonderful book launch yesterday, I was honoured to be present.
It was great that you presented the book to all, it was thought provoking and so rewarding to see the support that you had in the room. I am about to start reading it and just scanning through quickly last night thought it looked amazing and what’s more, accessible.
